Argento: Vier Fliegen auf grauem Samt Expertenfragen

ROSSO ist ja auch ne billige Videosynchro in Deutschland vom Trashlabel schlechthin (New Vision), der lief nie im Kino. FLIEGEN hat natürlich eine klassische, gute Kinosynchro, die ich auch gerne mal in guter Qualität hören würde.

Die wenigsten Argentos klingen auf deutsch gut, bzw. besser - wenn's hochkommt haben gerade mal L'UCCELLO DALLE PIUME DI CRISTALLO, IL GATTO A NOVE CODE, INFERNO und TRAUMA anhörbare Synchros, ansonsten regiert weitgehend pornöse Qualität (besonders bei TENEBRE und PHENOMENA).
Im Fall von DIE NEUNSCHWÄNZIGE KATZE und VIER FLIEGEN finde ich die leicht witzelnden deutschen Synchros im übrigen sehr passend, schlussendlich entspricht das bei diesen beiden Filmen ja auch den Original-Fassungen. INFERNO beispielsweise würde ich mit einer solchen Synchro niemals sehen wollen (aber auch nicht mit der englischen Porno-Synchro  :kotz:).

Weil aber die englischen und italienischen Fassungen von Italo-Filmen dieser Zeit sehr oft ausgesprochen lieblos produziert sind, bin ich immer froh und dankbar für eine hochwertige deutsche Kinosynchro die VIER FLIEGEN eben hat - daher will ich mal stark hoffen, dass Koch die Gerüchte in Bälde bestätigt.

Im Englischen wie im Deutschen gleich übersetzt mit "Four flies on grey velvet" bzw. "Vier Fliegen auf grauem Samt". Müsste das aber nicht eigentlich heißen: "Vier Fliegen aus grauem Samt"? Vielleicht kann ja hier jemand Italiano...

Precisamente! Übersetzt heißt es "Vier Fliegen aus grauem Samt." Mir fällt da jetzt nichts ein warum es auf heißen könnte, was aber nichts heißt (bin ja kein Muttersprachler). ;)

die 4 Fliegen sind im Film AUF oder VOR Grauem Samt zu sehen (ist sogar eine der Schlüsselszenen des Films). aus Grauem Samt sie sie jedenfalls nicht!

Habe nun seit einigen Tagen die Mya-DVD. Die Bildquali ist nunmehr wirklich gut. An anderen Stellen wurde aber nicht ganz so gute Arbeit geleistet, siehe folgende DVD-Bewertung:

Fans have been clamoring for a proper DVD release of this film for as long as the format has existed, and when word got out that Mya had finally sorted out all the legal red tape and were issuing it on disc, the exhalation was palpable. Regrettably, now that their well intended efforts are finally available, the controversy will begin. First, the good: the 2.35/16x9 transfer looks absolutely terrific. Colors are vivid, detail is sharp, and the source materials are in very good condition - it was reportedly mastered from untouched vault elements, and judging from the paucity of scratching and the like, this is to be believed. The transfer also restores some footage missing from previous English language dupes, notably a bit of nudity in a bathtub love scene and some added material during the killer's final freakout; these latter bits were never dubbed into English and are presented in Italian with removable English subs (fair being fair, though, it must be noted that part of the scene was originally included in the English dub, and the English dialogue in that instance has not been included - no doubt Mya felt it would be too choppy to cut back for this dialogue, but purists will still feel a bit cheated). On the downside, the film is missing approximately forty seconds of footage. WARNING: The following section contains spoilers - do not read this section if you haven't already seen the film!  The first bit occurs during the party scene, as Nina introduces her cousin Dalia to Roberto - as it plays now, her intro feels very jarring and sloppy, whereas Argento originally treated her to a more graceful introduction as Nina explains to Roberto that the girl has come to stay for a brief period. More detrimental is the second instance of missing footage, which occurs as Arosio speaks his last line - on the DVD the scene cuts sharply to a dialogue scene between Roberto and one of his friends, whereas originally Arosio was permitted to have a final breath and drop dead, at which point the scene segued into a bit more dialogue between Roberto and his friend as the latter discusses his theories on world peace. END SPOILERS  Neither scene is "cut," per se - it seems to be the result of print damage at the point of reel changes, and it's possible that a little more innocuous footage may have also been lost along the way that didn't jump out at me. Ultimately, it's a bit of a tradeoff - some new footage (at least for US fans) in place of some other more familiar material.

This is where things get really tricky. Mya have included both the English and Italian soundtracks, though complete subtitles have not been provided for the latter - only the bits in never dubbed into English have been subtitled. This is to be regretted, since the English track is a bit of a mess. It's not that the dubbing is poor - far from it. It's merely that the track is in rough shape - a fair amount of background noise and hiss are evident, parts of the track seem very wobbly indeed, and much of the track has been noticeably slowed down to keep the audio in synch with the image. It seems likely that Mya sourced the audio track from a PAL master, which would result in a higher pitch - and which would also throw it out of synch when paired with an NTSC image master. Mya have compensated by slowing the track down, making the voices seem far deeper than intended - and playing havoc with Morricone's score in the process. The Italian track is apparently used in sections with music and no dialogue, but fans familiar with the film will find the lower-than-usual dialogue to be very jarring. The Italian track is in the proper pitch, but since it doesn't offer complete English subtitles...

Extras
Extras include a battered American trailer, a slightly better looking American "teaser" trailer, and, best of all, a very trippy Italian theatrical trailer, which is in much better shape. Alternate English opening and closing titles are included, looking much closer to the battered visual materials fans have had to endure for years, as well as a still/poster gallery.

Overall
It's great to finally have Argento's rarest giallo on DVD, and while Mya have done a lot right by this release, they ultimately must be taken to task for dropping the ball with the audio and subtitles. The missing footage is a minor irritant in comparison - had the soundtrack been properly presented, one would feel bad even bringing it up.

Ist ja wieder ein Mediabook,wie es Koch Media ja schon bei Inferno gemacht hat.Also BD+DVD in einem Pack,und das Ganze dann für 30 Euro.
Ich hoffe aber das man irgenwann mal DVD oder BD einzeln kaufen kann.Gleiches gilt für Inferno.
