Norris and Van Damme Confirmed For Expendables 2

Last week, it was announced that Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger would return for The Expendables 2 with expanded roles. Now, Sylvester Stallone confirms to EW that the long-rumored casting of Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme is also true. What's more, the Face/Off pair of Nicolas Cage and John Travolta may be getting into the action as well.

"We'll have a big showdown between me and Van Damme," Stallone told the outlet, "which has been anticipated for a long time, so it should be a good one."

Co-written and directed by Stallone, the original Expendables also starred Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, David Zayas, Giselle Itie, Charisma Carpenter, Gary Daniels, Terry Crews and Mickey Rourke. For the second go-round, Simon West will be handling directing duties.

With production beginning next month in Bulgaria, Stallone is still finalizing plans about who will appear, though he hints that Cage is close to a lock and Travolta is bit more uncertain.

"It's possible," he said of the unconfirmed casting, "The one thing I've learned is what is a fact on Monday is a complete fallacy on Tuesday. A lot of it is scheduling. It's not financial. It's just that Bulgaria is definitely a jaunt. It's a commitment, you know what I mean? Especially in the dead of winter."

Wie jetzt? Ganzes Budget für die "Helden" rausgeschmissen und jetzt müssen sie in Bulgarien drehen? Na da wird Seagal doch sicher mal schnell für einen Take vorbeischlendern können. Der dreht doch sicher ganz in der Nähe. Oder wollte van Damme nicht zu weit reisen?  :LOL:

Von "geil" spreche ich erst dann, wenn ich diesmal auch was von den Fightszenen ausmachen kann, anstatt die hektische Schnitt-und Wischtechnik des ADS-Cutters zu bestaunen, was den ersten Film deutlich beschädigt hat.

Aber Stallone hat das doch auch bemängelt und ich denke er wird da schon versuchen seinen Einfluß geltend zu machen.

Hoffentlich. War wirklich das einzige - dafür aber ordentliche - Ärgernis des Films. Wenn man schon die "guten alten Zeiten" abfeiert, dann sollte man nicht ausgerechnet die Unarten des modernen Action-Kinos einflechten.

Liam Hemsworth Joins The Expendables 2

Liam Hemsworth is the latest name to join the cast of The Expendables 2, Variety reports. There's no word on his role quite yet, but he marks a surprisingly youthful addition to the cast of seasoned action stars, already slated to include Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Hemsworth is set to appear early next year in The Hunger Games and will play a leading role in the upcoming AWOL as well.

Stuntman Dies on the Set of The Expendables 2

The Sofia Echo reports that a stuntman died on the set of The Expendables 2 and another was injured and taken to the hospital.

The accident happened on the Ognyanovo dam near Elin Pelin in Bulgaria. The men were performing a stunt in a rubber boat that involved an explosion. They were members of the film's second unit, while the main unit was shooting in Bansko, about two-and-a-half hours away, at the time.

The site says the injured stuntman is in stable condition but is unconscious. He reportedly underwent a five-hour long operation on the night of October 27.

Nu Image/Millennium Films confirmed the accident, saying: "It is with great regret that we confirm this unfortunate accident. Our hearts go out to the families and those on the production affected by this tragedy. The filmmakers are working closely with the authorities in responding to and investigating this accident."

Ich glaube, er meint eher die sonstige Billigrotze, die mit Hilfe von notleidenden Actionaltstars in Rumänien, Bulgarien und Konsorten zusammengstümpert werden - und auch so aussehen.
