The only thing scarier than a plane crash is a plane crash full of violent inmates.

The Last Frontier premieres October 10 on Apple TV+ and follows Frank Remnick (Clarke), the lone U.S. marshal in charge of the quiet, rugged barrens of Alaska. Remnick's jurisdiction is turned upside-down when a prison transport plane crashes in the remote wilderness, setting free dozens of violent inmates. Tasked with protecting the town he's vowed to keep safe, he begins to suspect the crash wasn't an accident, but the first step of a well-crafted plan with far-reaching and devastating implications.

In addition to Clarke, the ensemble cast includes Dominic Cooper ("The Gold"), Haley Bennett ("The Magnificent Seven"), Simone Kessell ("Yellowjackets"), Dallas Goldtooth ("Reservation Dogs"), and Tait Blum ("For All Mankind"), with Academy Award Nominee and multi-Emmy winner Alfre Woodard ("Clemency").

Heißt hierzulande REMNICK (der Nachname des Polizisten/Hauptdastellers Jason Isaac) und läuft bereits. Gestern Folge 1 gesichtet, und ich finds ordentlich bisher. Sicher eigentlich Con Air meets Cliffhanger (vom Trailer her), aber ich denke das entwickelt sich durchaus noch etwas anders.

Ja, nach Folge 1 ändert sich die Tonalität massiv - war aber auch klar, dass man DAS Tempo nicht halten kann. Trotzdem ganz coole Sache: Von Vorspann/Musik (beste Mischung seit langem) über die Alaska-Optik bis zu den Akteuren ist da einiges wirklich gelungen. Leider nicht alles - diese Mischung aus "Verbrecher der Woche" + "Superbrain im Hintergrund (Cooper)" + "Regierungsverschwörung (vielleicht)" kommt nicht so richtig zusammen.
