From an original screenplay by Monahan, Mojave aims to offer an intense, classical thriller about a desolated, violent artist, Tom, (Hedlund) who escapes into the desert and encounters, instead of solitude, what he was really looking for: a worthy antagonist, in the form of a homicidal, chameleon-like drifter, Jack (Isaac).
The Mojave cast also includes Walton Goggins, Mark Wahlberg and Dania Ramirez. The film was picked up for distribution earlier this year by A24. Although it won't hit theaters until January, DIRECTV will premiere the film December 3.
