At the end of this intense gunfight, a mysterious man jumps into the center of the battle from nowhere and rescues Tae-gu with astonishing gunplay. Having survived the battle, Tae-gu thanks the man for saving his life. Yet, he does not know that this stranger is Do-won, the bounty hunter (The Good), who has been chasing Tae-gu to turn him in for a reward. These three men - Do-won (The Good), Chang-yi (The Bad) and Tae-gu (The Weird) - will soon discover that the map they are battling for is also a magnet that attracts others as diverse as the Korean resistance, Chinese/Russian/Korean mountain bandits and the Japanese army. The blazing gun battle in the train proves to be merely the beginning of the rollercoaster ride to the final showdown to come.

Nachdem "Sukiyaki Western Django" ja ein richtig lauter, knallender Schuss nach hinten war, könnte das hier die Ehre des jungen Genres des Asia-Italowesterns retten... oder auch nicht. Sieht sehr interessant aus (war bei dem Miike aber ebenso) und Kang-ho Song ist natürlich immer gut.

Heute gesehen und ist wirklich ganz nett. Hat vor allem mehr Tempo als "Sukiyaki Western". Ein recht exotischer Western, mit drei Klasse Helden und dem nötigen Schuss Humor. Auch wenn ich das Finale streckenweise als etwas wirr empfand, ist der Film eine echte Empfehlung.

Auf dem Festival wird wohl die internationale Version laufen, die gegenüber der koreanischen imo doch etwas abfällt, aber egal. Den Film muß ich einfach auf Leinwand sehen.

Ansonsten...ich habe mir den Soundtrack gekauft, da ich ihn einfach nur großartig finde. Und auch von der Ausstattung her ist es gelungen, ein schönes Digipack mit einigen Bildern, dazu vier Postkarten (eines schwarzweiß mit allen drei Protagonisten, dann noch jeweils ein farbiges Bild von jedem einzelnen).

Internationale Fassung und ich habe im Thread zu den Filmfest Nights mal geschrieben, welche Unterschiede mir bei der Sichtung im Kino aufgefallen sind:

- die ich nenn sie mal Exposition rund um "Park Do-won/The Good" findet nicht wie in der Korea-Fassung statt

Er kommt jedoch nicht rechtzeitig dazu, die Lunte anzustecken und muss sich unter Beschuss hinter seinem Jeep in Deckung begeben. Nun versucht er durch einen Schuss das Dynamit zu treffen und somit zur Explosion zu bringen, was ihm aber, vor allem unter Sperrfeuer, nicht gelingen will. Erst als Do-won dazu kommt und mit einem gezielten Schuss das Dynamit hochjagt und durch die Explosion der Bogengang zusammenstürzt, ziehen sich die Soldaten zurück.
In der Korea-Fassung hingegen, kommt die Armee erst nach dem Duell und nachdem Do-won verschwunden ist (siehe unten) dazu. Sie erwischen Tae-goo, wie dieser gerade die Leiche von "Park Chang-yi/The Bad" in der "Grube" mit Dynamit bestückt und alles hochjagen will. Sie halten Tae-goo zunächst in Schach, doch als er mehr oder weniger schnell die Lunte einer Dynamit-Stange entzündet, ergreifen die Soldaten panisch die Flucht.
- das Ende ist ein bisschen anders: in der Korea-Fassung wird der verletzte Park Do-won von seiner Frau/Tochter (oder was auch immer sie darstellt) weggeschafft. Erst danach gelangt Yoo Tae-goo wieder zu Bewusstsein und offenbart, dass er sich durch Panzerplatten geschützt hat. Daraufhin folgt die Szene mit den Steckbriefen, in der Do-won realisiert, dass Tae-goo noch am Leben ist. Er fragt deswegen eine Gruppe von Männern aus bzw. er erschießt die Gehilfen und quetscht dann den Anführer aus (habs nicht mehr genau im Kopf, aber das war doch nicht Man-gil, oder?). Jetzt folgt in der Korea-Fassung die Szene, in der Tae-goo durch die Lanschaft rast und die Credits laufen nun genauso wie in der internationalen Fassung ab

Hab den jetzt auch endlich gesehn... Mann, Mann, Mann, son spaßigen Film hab ich schon lange nicht mehr gesehn. Bereu ich direkt, dass ich da nicht ins Kino gehn konnte...

Einen Post über Deinem habe ich dazu was geschrieben.
Wusste ja nicht, wie erschöpflich die Schilderungen sind. Hab' jetzt selbst mal reingeschaut, und muss sagen, dass es tatsächlich eine richtige Verschlechterung ist.
Weiß jemand, wo ich diese (http://www.ofdb.de/view.php?page=fassung&fid=141476&vid=266907) oder diese (http://www.ofdb.de/view.php?page=fassung&fid=141476&vid=282147) Version noch herbekommen kann?
Oder auch irgendeine andere Version, die die Korea-Fassung enthält (ich nehm mal an die aus Taiwan enthält die, ist nichts angegeben).
Hier (http://www.asiandb.com/store/detail.php?num=10432) scheints die noch zu geben. Wobei ich da noch nie bestellt hab, mir sind die Versandkosten zu unverschämt, abgesehen davon, daß der Film auch sehr viel mehr kostet, als ich für ihn an anderer Stelle gezahlt hatte.
Ansonsten scheint die thailändische Version, die es auch bei ebay gibt, die ungekürzte zu sein. Ich kann zwar nix zu der speziell sagen, abeer ich habe von ein paar Korea-Filmen thailändische DVDs im Regal stehen und keinen Grund zu meckern, was die Qualität angeht.
Wie immer sollte man halt bei ebay die Augen aufhalten, was Bootlegs angeht, aber die lassen sich mit ein bißchen genau Hinschauen ja relativ leicht rausfiltern.
edit: Achja, die von dir verlinkte Taiwan-Version gibts hier (http://www.yesasia.com/global/the-good-the-bad-the-weird-dvd-2-disc-deluxe-edition-taiwan-version/1014429569-0-0-0-en/info.html). Die Seite ist schwer in Ordnung, oft schon da bestellt, nie Probleme gehabt. Wobei die dortigen Angaben eher dafür sprechen, daß auch bei dieser Version nur die gekürzte Fassung drauf ist.
Woher hast du die Info das die Thai die Korea Fassung ist?

habe den Film heute sehen können....hmmm entweder habe ich noch nicht den Nerv solcher Filme getroffen aber ich habe den nach 25 Minuten ausgemacht (dt. Fassung). Hatte mir wesentlich mehr davon versprochen!
