War mir ja klar, dass da früher oder später ein Remake kommt. Ein 5ter Teil wäre mir lieber gewesen.

Ich glaube das ist eher ein verspäteter April-Scherz.

Ich kanns auch nich glauben... Kaufmann hasst Hollywood wie die Pest. Das jetzt ausgerechnet sein Firmenmaskottchen von Hollywood verwurstet werden soll (und das mit PG13), ist fast unglaublich. :icon_lol:

Steve Pink to Remake The Toxic Avenger

Steve Pink, the man behind Hot Tub Time Machine, has come aboard the remake of The Toxic Avenger, reports Deadline. Pink will not only direct but will, alongside, Daniel C. Mitchell, provide the script.

The original film was set in Tromaville, New Jersey - a small American town, terrorized by criminals. Among the residents of Tromaville is Melvin, a nerdy emaciated janitor at the local health club. A gang of thugs devise a cruel hoax that goes horribly wrong as Melvin is cast through a third story window into a vat of hazardous toxic waste. However, an unexpected metamorphosis takes place. As the chemicals take hold of his body, Melvin turns into the Toxic Avenger, doer of good, and brutal mauler of evil.

Directed by Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman, the original launched their company, Troma Entertainment with "Toxie" as their corporate mascot. The original The Toxic Avenger spawned three sequels and an animated series.

In development for some time, director Steve Pink's remake of The Toxic Avenger looks like it may be getting an unusual headliner. Although he won't play Toxie himself, Variety reports that Arnold Schwarzenegger is in talks for a leading role.

The original film was set in Tromaville, New Jersey - a small American town, terrorized by criminals. Among the residents of Tromaville is Melvin, a nerdy emaciated janitor at the local health club. An official press release has been sent out with more details, including the synopsis, which specifies what role Arnold would be taking:

Loosely based on Lloyd Kaufman's classic Troma franchise, THE TOXIC AVENGER is the tale of a high-school kid who gets dunked in a vat of toxic waste by a corrupt chemical company.  He survives the ordeal with one major side effect: upon contact with toxic chemicals, he transforms into a monster with superhuman strength. Schwarzenegger would play "the Exterminator," a former black ops agent, who trains Toxie to use his powers for good. Together they take on the lurking menace created by the polluters, and the polluters themselves.

Ich glaube, das letzte wofür ich Eintritt bezahlen würde, wäre Arnie dabei zuzusehen, wie er in so einem Mist auch seine letzten Sympathien verspielt.

Breaking News: Das Projekt kommt neu in Gang. Peter Dinklage spielt die Hauptrolle, Macon Blair (TV´s "I Don't Feel At Home in This World Anymore") führt Regie. "The Toxic Avenger is born when meek mop boy Melvin falls into a vat of toxic waste. Now evildoers will have a lot to lose." Es ist noch nicht klar, ob Dinklage Melvin oder den Baddie spielt.

Ich habe Fragen.

Wenn ich mir den alten Toxie so ansehe, dann erblicke ich nen etwa 190 - 200 cm grossen Kerl. Und Peter Dinklage ist, nun ja, .., irgendwie nicht gaaaaaaaaanz so gross.

Daher also die (Vorab)Frage:
Wie zur Hölle wollen die das realisieren? Wird das so etwas wie bei der alten HULK Fernsehserie? Lege sie die Rolle des Toxie komplett neu aus, wo Grösse keine Rolle spielt (Sorry, innerlich lache ich gerade etwas zynisch).

Fragen über Fragen.

Nee, aber im Ernst, vielleicht wirds ja auch so ne Motion Capture Geschichte oder Ähnliches...

Nicht, dass mich hier jetzt jemand falsch versteht. Ich finde er ist ein wirklich exzellenter Darsteller!!
Aber, für mich ist das aktuell so als hätte man Stephen Hawking als Rocky Darsteller im Remake ausgewählt.
Aktuell kann ich mir ein zynisches Lachen einfach nicht verkneifen.
Aber, schau mer mal, dann seh mer scho.

Kevin Bacon verkörpert in dem Streifen den Baddie.

So ein Staraufgebot für so nen Trashklassiker...ich weiß nicht :denk2:

Je öfter ich bisher über dieses Remake und Einklage nachgedacht habe, und jetzt auch noch Kevin Bacon (!!!!), desto mehr freue ich mich jetzt eigentlich darauf.

Das ganze könnte in (für mich absolut positive) einer Art "TREMORS" enden. Damit meine ich jetzt NCIHT die Handlung, sondern eher die skurrilen Charaktere aus dem Film TREMORS. I like.

Kann gerne kommen - Darkman mit Blut  :respect:

Der Troma Vibe ist schonmal da... könnte nett werden (also besser als die Troma Dinger)
