Zitat von: blade2603 nach 9 September 2013, 11:39:15Gibts evtl. noch neue Gerüchte und oder Kristallkugel Wahrsagungen zu einem 2. Teil?
Zitat"Wow, yeah, I'm watching that with great interest actually," Urban said. "Of course I would love nothing more than to come back and make another one of those films. I had such a great time making it and really, I support it wholeheartedly. I guess it's up to people. If they make enough noise, if they buy enough of the DVDs then sure, it's a possibility."
ZitatThe verdict is in and Lionsgate (LGF), a leading global entertainment company, announced today that the home entertainment release of DREDD claimed the number one spot on the DVD sell-through and Blu-ray charts with 650,000 units sold, making it the best-selling new release title of the year. Blu-ray units accounted for nearly 50% of week 1 POS at retail. In addition, the critically acclaimed thriller, starring Karl Urban (Star Trek) as the titular character Judge Dredd , was the top film download for the week, outpacing all other titles in digital sales as well. Said Ron Schwartz , Lionsgate Executive Vice President & General Manager, Home Entertainment. "We're also pleased that a film released on 3-D Blu-ray was able to top the sales charts, a clear reflection of how quality films in this up and coming format can find their audience."
ZitatOn 18th September, we're encouraging everyone to take part in a massive DREDD SEQUEL DAY OF ACTION - we've already made the moneymen who could get behind a sequel sit up and take notice by consistently keeping the DVD and Blu-Ray in the charts on Amazon and now on Netflix. We're asking everyone who's signed the petition to come together next Wednesday and drive DREDD back up the charts - if everyone who's signed the petition bought an extra DVD or Blu-Ray (either for themselves or as a present for a friend) or rented/bought it on iTunes and Netflix it will send the loudest signal yet that WE WANT MORE DREDD!So spread the word that on Wednesday 18th September, you're going to bring DREDD back into the public eye! Plus, it's the day that the new comic book sequel comes out, with lots of media attention planned for this and the campaign. Thanks to Rebellion for helping put this newsletter together - we're also really pleased to reveal that the official T-shirt for the campaign is now available, so you can wear your support with pride!

ZitatIGN caught up with director Alex Garland, who offered an update on the proposed film."As far as I'm concerned? Yeah, it is [dead]," said Garland. "My hope is, and I actually think this will happen - somebody else will do it. Not to be all coy and silly about it, but I think our film was better than the first one, right? Just to be blunt. And the job of the next people is to make their film better than ours. And then if they do that, then finally, maybe this character will break out in the way that it deserves to. But we'll see."As for the fan petition to get the film made..."It makes me feel sad really. I feel grateful to the people who've attempted to get a sequel off the ground. And sorry that actually what happened was we let them down. Because the reality is that a film needs to acquit itself. It shouldn't need a petition. And the truth is if it gets to the point where it needs a petition, it's in big trouble anyway. That's the cold, hard reality of it. I feel a sense of residual guilt. It's quite strong actually; it's not that residual. Dredd was a very, very hard movie to work on, for all sorts of different reasons, and the reward would have been at the end of it that it all worked out. But it didn't all work out. That's the reality."So what would Garland's sequel look like if it did happen?"The first film we made it for about $35m, although quite a lot of that was to do with shooting it in 3D. Or a chunk of it. And we managed to make that film for that budget by locking it in a building essentially, sort of Die Hard-style. In the second film it was going to go out into the desert, which would be The Cursed Earth - people who know the comic book would know immediately what that means. And maybe throw some money at some key sequences. That's how you do it I guess. I think we could have made it for another $30m, $35m type thing. We could have made it for $30m if we shot it in 2D. $35m maybe 3D I guess. Of that order. But the third one, that would have been more expensive because it would have been going back to the city and maybe bringing in some Dark Judges or something like that."

:icon_lol:
