Argh. Gut und schlecht. Dann werde ich wohl warten und hoffen müssen, dass die "richtige" Version auf DVD erscheinen wird. Abgesehen davon hört sich das ganze ja richtig gut an. Ich freu' mich jedenfalls schon darauf.

Ja die News rund um den Film sind echt geil. Wenn ich schön höre "... its style is classical and also a bit Gothic..." oder "The witches are very, very sexy!" Geht mir das Herz auf. Aber die News um die DVD Vö sind natürlich zum  :kotz:

Die Frage ist doch sowieso ob und in welcher Version der Film es hier bei uns überhaupt ins Kino schafft, oder? EDie letzten Argentos liefemn ja alles andere als gut und wenn dann auch noch direkter Bezug zu den "bösen" Filmen der Vergangenheit genommen wird, da könnte die Zensurbehörde mal wieder zu Grossleistungen auflaufen - vielleicht aber auch nicht, also hjätte ich wenig Problem auf eine "unrated" DVD zu warten. Aber vielleicht packen die Rosebudjungs es den für's FFF an Land zu ziehen, oder ist das schon zu spät? (habe gerade nicht nachgelesen, ob hier schon stand, wann der starten soll...) Gespannt bin ich schon und hoffe stark, dass der gute alte Dario noch mal einen echten Hammer abliefert...

MoT soll ja erst um den 31.10.07 anlaufen. Scheinbat hat Medusa in Italien ordentlich einen an der Klatsche, als ob zu Halloween mehr Leute ins kino laufen würden als sonst auch. Eine DVD bekommt man dann wohl frühestens 2008 und in welcher Form (cut/uncut/bissel cut) weiß auch keiner.

The Third Mother will be uncut, says Argento

Following the rumours that the upcoming The Third Mother would be cut by distributor Medusa Film before its theatrical release, director Dario Argento has himself weighed in on the issue, and here is what he has to say:

According to Dario, "La Terza Madre" won't be cut and there will be only one version for the theaters and the DVD. "These days, people are used to a cinema that's a bit stronger and more vivid, I don't think there will be any problems. It will be rated, but it's normal." In fact he says "I wasn't asked to do any cuts." So I hope this will stay this way and that nobody will ask him to cut anything.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that this remains the case.

So dann hoffen wir mal, das wieder ein ordentliches ungekuerztes Meisterwerk wie die beiden Vorgaenger herauskommt.
Und zusaetzlich, das er auch in den USA im Kino startet.
Gott waere das genial.
Wahrscheinlich ein Traum, aber zugegebenermassen ein sehr genialer waere natuerlich eine Dreier-Vorstellung.  :respekt:
Aber naja, dieser Traum wird wohl nicht in Erfuellung gehen.

Ich bezweifel mal, dass der dt. Verkaufsmarkt irgendeine Rolle spielen wird, gerade für solche Filme (aber dein Smiley deutet es ja auch an, dass es Latte ist). Argento kennen in D doch eh nur "Freaks". Der große Absatz kommt in Italien und natürlich in den USA. Und keine Angst, in den USA kommt schon die Unrated-Fassung mit mehr Splatter und Gore  :king: . Wer sollte dies aufhalten? Eine MPAA-Freigabe benötigen die für das Kino, der DVD-Markt braucht das nicht. Kino wird ein netter Zusatz, den Reibach machen sie mit der DVD, weil sie genau wissen, wer diese Filme kauft. Es wäre gerade zu fatal, einen Argento-Film geschnitten auf den Markt zu bringen.

Doch viel wichtiger wäre es doch, dass der Film auch mal gut ist? Dazu müssen bei mir nicht pausenlos Köpfe fliegen wie in den ideenlosen Filmen der Neuzeit. Suspiria und Horror Infernal sind ja auch keine Schlachtfilme und ziehen ihren Reiz aus was ganz anderem.

Einige Stimmen nach der TeilAufführung in Cannes:

While here's what writer Alan Jones had to say about the preview of the film at Cannes Film Festival to the Dark Dreams web site. "Hi Nick, up to my neck in the Cannes labyrinth! Myriad premiered 20 minutes of footage from MOTHER OF TEARS: THE THIRD MOTHER (US title) today (May 17) at 9.30 am at the Gray 3 cinema. The place was packed After a credit roll, and a warning that what we would be shown was very graphic and violent, eight lenghty scenes from the movie were unveiled. I do not want to go into specifics because major plot points were revealed. But the full opening was shown with Asia and Coralina opening the Mother of Tears' urn and the arrival of the demons and the evil monkey. The powder puff scene was next. This was the stuff I saw being filmed in Turin really well put together where Asia is shown how to summon up the spirit of her mother. Then it was the lesbian death scene carried out by the Man in the Overcoat with torture implements. Exorcist Udo Kier's major scene followed, plus Asia running through the panicked strrets of Rome. Adam James major moment followed that with the finale reserved for the entrance of the Mother of Tears herself. I will say it was gory to the max and all the effects looked fantastic. The vibe in the room was mixed. People laughed at the monkey but all jumped at a terrific demonic scare. Talking to everyone afterwards the feeling was the acting was variable (what's new), the scripting had too much exposition (ditto) but that it was beautifully shot - lots of steadicam through the museum - and the photography was fabulous. You can't judge any movie in this bitty way so let's hope it all comes together by final print stage. An unqualified success though is Simometti's music. Wonderful. I'm still gagging to see the whole thing put together. October 18 is now the official Italian premiere date, it's opening the Rome Festival. Dario and Asia arrive in Cannes tonight for the restored SUSPIRIA screening in the Cannes Classics strand. A very pecular credit has appeared on the film - music by Goblin and Philip Glass! Quite what that means I don't know, did Goblin's music really need any additional material? While Asia is here I'm finally hoping to pin her down for THE STENDHAL SYNDROME DVD extra interview that she couldn't do in Rome last month. Aber naja, auf den Inhalt kommt es an, und da sieht es, wie erwaehnt, hervorragend aus.
Ich hoffe nur, nach dem ( voraussichtlichen ) italienischen Starttermin in Italien im Oktober beeilen die sich und schmeissen den Film auf den US-Markt.
Was wird eigentlich die Sprache sein?
Italienisch / Englisch / Gemischt?
Oder hab ich das wo ueberlesen?
Englisch waere natuerlich super, dann muss ich mir keine Sorgen wegen ner verhunzten Synchro machen.

Wieso? Ist doch eine Übersetzung von "Mater Lacrimarum", was ja schon in "Inferno" angesprochen wurde. Natürlich wäre der lateinische Titel besser gewesen...

Denke mal, die Set-Sprache und die der meisten Darsteller war englisch und so wurde der Film dann wohl auch erst mal aufgenommen. Heißt aber nicht viel, da Argento seine Filme immer gerne post-dubben lässt. Daher kann es gut sein, dass der Film im Studio evtl. auch von den gleichen Schauspielern nochmal gedubbed wird in englisch und ggfs. auch auf italienisch, soweit sie es können (z.B. Asia).

Genau dies ist bei Stendhal passiert. Asia hat original englisch gesprochen, ihre (gutes) englisch wurde dann im Studio aber von einer anderen Person gedubbed. als Rache dubbte sie dann ihre eigene Stimme auf italienisch.

Naja, was manche Amis in den Titel reindenken, hat mit Dario Argentos Gedanken nix zu tun.
Denk nur an den Werbespruch zu "The 51st State":
"Nice wheels, dirty deals and one mean mother in a cilt."
Viele werden meinen, es handle sich dabei um ne Abwandlung von "Motherf***er".
Deswegen meine ich das.
Und wie du schon sagtest, normalerweise gehoerte hier der lateinische Titel her.  :respekt:

Warum sollte Argento lügen? Ich erwarte keinen 2. Suspiria, aber trotzdem, warum ist noch nicht Oktober? Hoffentlich wird die kommende Medusa-DVD dann nicht wieder nur für Italiener, wie es sich in letzter Zeit häuft. Auf Soavis "Arivederci amore, ciao" wartet man auch schon lange genug.

Das erste Bild ist ziemlich ästhetisch, das zweite aber eher platter Gore. Gut, die sind ja völlig aus dem Zusammenhang gerissen; wie sich die nachher ins Gesamtbild einfügen.

Dazu hoffe ich mal wird der Soundtrack wieder so genial wie bei seinen Vorgaengern, dann bin ich zufrieden.

Wenn das mal nicht der absolute Kracher wird. Schliesslich hat Argento ja mit Sleepless bewiesen, dass er auch im neuen Jahrtausend noch gute Filme machen kann wenn er nur will. (was wurde eigentlich aus seiner angekündigten Giallo-Trilogie, die mit Sleepless hätte beginnen sollen? - Card Player kanns ja kaum gewsen sein).
Card Player war einfach nur Pfusch und den Hitchcock hab ich noch nicht gesehen. Go Dario!
