Das ganze ist etwas ausgelutscht. Wobei ich jetzt nicht sagen will das Dead Space das Genre neu erfindet :hacki:

Beides natürlich, daher erwarte ich von einem Live Action Movie auch so viel. Das wird sich Electronic Arts nicht versauen lassen jetzt wo sie so einen erstklassigen Titel haben ;)
Auch wenn Downfall nur Sinn macht wenn man das Spiel auch spielt. Aber wir sollten lieber mal zum Thema zurückkehren, sonst gibts Haue :dodo:

Ronald Moore clarified a few things regarding Universal's The Thing. Yes, in case you've been hiding under a rock, the studio is updating John W. Campbell Jr.'s short story "Who Goes There?" once again with Matthijs Van Heijningen directing. Moore, well known now for his stellar work on Battlestar Galactica, recently finished his draft of the script.

In a conversation with Sci Fi Wire, Moore says the film is now awaiting a green light. And regarding the story, "the idea was to make a companion piece to [John] Carpenter's [film]," he tells the site. "I started on the project with the feeling that Carpenter's version is just an amazing piece of work. It's a great film, and we really wanted to honor that version."

He adds, "We wanted a piece that would link up to [the Carpenter film] and not supplant it. So we didn't try to sort of completely reinvent what it was. We wanted a movie that would sort of live alongside it."

Well-chosen words from a man who seems to understand he's under much scrutiny from the fans of Carpenter's version.

Apparently, the prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 remake of The Thing will start shooting in a few months in Toronto according to Production Weekly who posted on their Twitter feed:

"Universal's prequel to John Carpenter's classic thriller "The Thing," is due to begin filming March and continue till June in Toronto."

Directed by Matthijs van Heijningen, Jr. from a screenplay by "Battlestar Galactica" exec. producer Ronald D. Moore and Eric Heisserer (The Nightmare on Elm Street remake), the prequel is supposed to be an earlier story about the mutation that attacks the Norwegian base from Carpenter's movie.

The prequel is definitely meant for a theatrical release!

Freu mich irgendwie schon auf das Teil. Lieber ein Prequel als ein Reboot oder Remake oder irgendwas in die Richtung.
Und vielleicht bekommen sie ja Kurt für ein Cameo, der dann mit einer Zeitkaspel aus der Zukunft zur Hilfe kommt und natürlich noch immer seinen riesen Cowboy Hut trägt  :LOL:

Ernsthaft? Von John Carpenter natürlich. :LOL:

Der Trailer läßt einen rundum gelungenen Genrefilm vermuten, aber was heißt hier "Prelude"? Viele Szenen scheinen bis zum Bildausschnitt und den Bodenmarkierungen fast 1zu1 von Carpenters Verfilmung übernommen worden zu sein. Ist also ein ganz normales Remake plus

etwas mehr Screentime für das (Innere des) außerirdische Raumschiff(s).


Was das Ende der 2011-Verfilmung angeht, eine kühne Prognose: [möglicherweise Mega-Spoiler]

Um auf Carpenters Remake noch eins draufzusetzen, wird es nicht nur ein Alien in der Forschergruppe geben, sondern entweder (a) zwei oder (b) wie bei Carpenter ein sich ständig veränderndes plus eins, das bis zum Schlußtwist nicht weiß, daß es ein Alien ist.

Du meinst Morricone. Die Musik am Ende mit Sicherheit.

Trailer ist meh. Die Tatsache, dass ich beim Sichten ständig daran denken musste, dass Mary Elizabeth Winstead zum beissen ausschaut ist nicht wirklich ein Kompliment.
