So, ich poste hier mal die ersten Infos zum 3. Teil inkl. S P O I L E R   A L E R T, da ich in letzter Zeit vermehrt die Erfahrung gemacht habe, dass spoiler-trächtige Artikel sehr schnell wg. Studioauflagen gelöscht wurden:

DreamWorks Animation has cast a small medieval kingdom's worth of fairy tale characters to appear in "Shrek the Third."
The next installment of the smelly ogre's saga, set for release next year, will star an elite, ninja-like strike force of fairy tale princesses voiced by Amy Sedaris as Cinderella, Amy Poehler as Snow White, Maya Rudolph as Rapunzel and Cheri Oteri as Sleeping Beauty.
Organized by Princess Fiona, the ladies underground resistance movement fends off a coup d'etat by Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) in the land of Far, Far Away.
Also joining the hit animated comedy's cast are Ian McShane as Captain Hook, John Krasinski as Sir Lancelot and Monty Python veteran Eric Idle as Merlin the magician.
The film's main roles again will be voiced by Mike Myers (Shrek), Cameron Diaz (Princess Fiona), Eddie Murphy (Donkey) and Antonio Banderas (Puss in Boots). Justin Timberlake will voice King Arthur, aka Artie.
"Shrek the Third" finds the green ogre married to Princess Fiona, but becoming the next King and Queen of Far, Far Away wasn't part of his plan. When his father-in-law, King Harold (John Cleese), falls ill, it is up to Shrek to find a suitable heir or he will be forced to give up his beloved swamp for the throne. Recruiting Donkey and Puss, Shrek sets out to bring back the rightful heir to the throne, Fiona's rebellious cousin Artie. Back in Far, Far Away, Fiona's jilted Prince Charming storms the city with an army of fairy tale villains to seize the throne. But they have a surprise because Fiona, together with her mother, Queen Lillian (Julie Andrews), has drafted her fellow fairy tale heroines to defend their "happily ever afters." As Shrek, Donkey and Puss work on changing Artie from a royal pain into a future king, Fiona and her band of princesses must stop Prince Charming to ensure that there will be a kingdom left to rule.
Sedaris stars in ThinkFilm's "Strangers With Candy"; Poehler stars in Paramount's upcoming "Blades of Glory"; Rudolph is onscreen in Picturehouse's "A Prairie Home Companion"; Oteri is in Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming animated comedy "The Ant Bully"; Idle is in Key Creatives' upcoming anime "Delgo"; McShane ("Deadwood") plays Tai Lung in DreamWorks Animation's upcoming "Kung Fu Panda"; and Krasinski portrays Jim Halpert on NBC's "The Office" and appears in Christopher Guest's upcoming "For Your Consideration" from Warner Independent Pictures.
"Shrek the Third" is being directed by Chris Miller, co-directed by Raman Hui, produced by Aron Warner and executive produced by Andrew Adamson and John H. Williams.
The DWA comedy will be distributed by Paramount Pictures and is set for release May 18.
Sedaris is repped by Paradigm, Poehler and Oteri are repped by UTA, Rudolph is repped by Endeavor, McShane is repped by ICM and Krasinski is repped by CAA.
Poehler and Rudolph additionally are managed by 3 Arts. Oteri additionally is managed by Peg Donegan.

Im Zuge von "Shrek 3" soll es übrigens zum nächsten Weihnachtsfest ein ca. 30 min. Shrek-Holiday Special namens "Shrek the Halls" fürs Fernsehen geben!

ABC is going for a green Christmas with "Shrek the Halls," a half-hour original animated special from DreamWorks Animation SKG based on the company's hit animated feature franchise.

The network has greenlighted production on the special -- to be voiced by the "Shrek" features' original cast of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas -- which is slated to premiere in December 2007. Sources said the pact is for 15 years, with ABC set to rerun the special around the holidays every year.

"Family classics are a cornerstone of our brand, and 'Shrek the Halls' will provide warm memories year after year and be a great addition to our library of holiday favorites such as 'Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town' and 'A Charlie Brown Christmas,' " ABC Entertainment president Stephen McPherson said.

"Shrek the Halls" stems from a conversation McPherson had with DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, in which the ABC Entertainment president told Katzenberg he was looking for a Christmas special that feels unique.

Katzenberg and his team came up with the idea to get their "Shrek" characters in the Christmas spirit.

"The time has come to celebrate the joys of the holiday season with Shrek and his family and see how Christmas would play out in his world," Katzenberg said. "Having this special on broadcast television is another really important piece of how we're trying to build this franchise."

Katzenberg said the TV special will be "very much in keeping with the style and sensibility of the movies."

It will pick up where DreamWorks' upcoming "Shrek the Third" leaves off, on the first Christmas after the events in the feature, which is set to bow in May.

Gary Trousdale ("Beauty and the Beast") will direct the special, which will have Shrek (Myers), Fiona (Diaz), Donkey (Murphy), Puss in Boots (Banderas) and all their fairy tale buddies put their own twist on holiday traditions. Teresa Cheng ("Madagascar") and Gina Shay ("The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie") are producing.

Die Pressestimmen sind jetzt nicht gerade überragend, entsprechen so ziemlich dem, was ich mir bei dem extrem unlustigen Trailer schon gedacht hab...

Film critics, who by and large have been giving the recent crop of movie sequels decidedly mixed reviews, have not changed their tone with the release of Shrek the Third, which officially opens on Friday but is also being screened at many theaters beginning at midnight tonight (Thursday). In her review in today's Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Eleanor Ringle Gillespie acknowledges that given the massive fandom that the Shrek character has produced, "whether or not li'l old me likes Shrek the Third isn't going to amount to a hill of beans." Still, she remarks, the movie is "not very good" and later, "The magic is gone." Many of the same critics who are writing negatively about the film had praised the original two installments. One of them is Carrie Rickey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, who writes, "It grieves me to report that the third time is charmless. ... Shrek the Third isn't a movie, it's the extension of a brand." The cancer-recovering Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times pays a return visit to the movie franchise only to find it "lacking the comic energy of the first brilliant film and not measuring up to the second." Christy Lemire of the Associated Press writes that the movie is "smothered in a suffocating sense of been-there, done-that." Or as Claudia Puig puts it in USA Today, "The main element that's missing in this third go-round is the sense of fresh discovery felt with the 2001 original." Carina Chocano opines that too much of the kids movie is aimed not at kids but at their parents. "Does a kids' movie really need, among other similar touches, a Hooters joke?" she asks. "I, for one, wouldn't want to have to explain it." Jack Mathews in the New York Daily News objects to a scene in which "a husky, whisker-studded transsexual princess says of Prince Charming, he 'makes me hotter than July.'" Then again, Kyle Smith in the New York Post notes that the film ends with "a salvo of poop, farts and belches -- delightful to 5-year-olds, but then so are belly buttons, kazoos and Night at the Museum."

Wusste gar nicht das Randolf Kronberg verstorben ist.Seine Synchrostimme wird wohl schwer ersetzbar sein.
Die neue Stimme für den Esel spricht jetzt Dennis Schmidt-Foss und hat,soweit ich es raushören konnte,leichte Ähnlichkeit zur alten Stimme des Esels.

Es gab ja Gerüchte, das Kronberg Shrek 3 schon eingesprochen hat. Naja, nach Randolf Kronberg ist die Hoffnung gestorben.
Aber hast recht, leichte Ähnlichkeiten sind da, mal sehen, wie es sich im Film auswirkt.

Bevor es heute in die Sneak ging, haben sich 3/4 der heutigen DSC noch zu "Shrek 3" zusammengefunden und gingen am Stück vollkommen zufrieden aus dem Filmerlebnis, wenn auch mit leicht unterschiedlichen Meinungen beim Vergleich mit den Vorgängern.

Für mich persönlich war "Shrek" definitiv der Schwächste der Trilogie, was aber noch lange nicht heißt, dass der Film ansich irgendwie schlecht war. Nein, ganz im Gegenteil! Nach all den miesen Reviews und dem öden 2. Trailer war ich heute doch überrascht, wie erstaunlich gelungen dieser Abschluss doch ausgefallen ist. Die Geschichte selbst war erneut richtig gut und fantasiereich und besitzt auch wieder allerhand Anarchie und Gags, die deutlich auf ein erwachseneres Publikum zugeschnitten waren. Diese waren allerdings nicht ganz so oft zum Brüllen, wie in den genialen Vorgängern, konnten insgesamt aber dennoch ein erstaunlich hohes Niveau halten. Dazu auch wieder einige Zitate und wunderbare Sprüche. Zudem natürlich tolle Animationen und eine gelungene Musikuntermahlung. Nur eben das Zünglein zum absoluten Genre-Referenzprodukt, sowie es vor allem bei Teil 1 der Fall war, das fehlte irgendwie und der Charme hat vergleichsweise auch ein wenig gelitten. Insgesamt aber dennoch ein großer Spaß für alle Oger-Fans! 8/10 Punkte

Und noch eine beruhigende Nachricht: Für den verstorbenen R. Kronenberg wurde mit Dennis Schmidt-Foss wirklich ein idealer Ersatzsprecher gefunden! Sowieso war die deutsche Synchro eigentlich 1A, vielleicht mal abgesehen von Mutter Beimer als Königin :icon_rolleyes:! Und Eric Idle kommt im O-Ton sicher auch besser. Aber sonst: :respekt:

Ich weiss nicht warum fast alle den dritten unter den zweiten stellen, ich fand den zweiten zäh, trtotz vielleicht höherer Komikquote, mir ging die Story nach der Hälfte deutlich auf die Nerven und daher fand ich den dritten erfrischender - vielleicht sollte ich mit den zweiten einfach noch mal geben und sehen ob ich damals eventuell nicht gut drauf war... ;)

ich muss mich mal wieder Herrn P. von sat1 anschließen. Der dritte Teil war einfach langweilig, zäh und (fast komplett) ohne die geniale Shrek/Esel combo. Das ganze Thema wirkt irgendwie ausgelutscht und der Funke wollte nicht recht rüberspringen. Die paar HighLights kannte ich eigendlich alle aus den Trailern...
Die Animationen waren natürlich sehr gut gemacht, allerdings für heutige Verhältnisse auch nix aussergewöhnliches mehr. Mit großem Abstand der schlechteste Teil der Trilogie und definitiv keine Kinoempfehlung!

ich würde dem ganzen solala noch so 4/10 geben. Die besten/lustigsten Chars waren noch der Kecks-Mann und Merlin...

Endlich einer der es genauso sieht  :D. Fand den zweiten deutlich lahmer als den dritten jetzt (gestern Abend in Dresden gesichtet). Was hab ich gebrüllt im Saal (zeitweise war ich der einzige der hässlich vor sich hin lachte  :rofl: humorloses Pack, soll es sich doch lieber Blödsinn wie Norbit ansehen.), denn da waren mehr als genug schöne schwarze Anspielungen und Albernheiten ("Jetzt bist du dran Peter Pan!" - "Sein Name ist nicht Peter..." - "Sei ruhig Wendy!"  :LOL:).

Der Teil hat (für mich) die Shrek Trilogie definitiv gerettet, obwohl ich sie nach dem zweiten schon fast abgeschrieben hatte! Und die Gags aus dem Trailer empfand ich noch als die weniger witzigen ;) da waren doch echte Granaten dabei. Schönes Ding, 9/10. Jetzt muss nur noch die Dvd und O-Ton her  :D.
