Hey Rockfans.

Man muss wissen, was man mag.

ZitatChinese Democracy - the song grows a bit on me, not that I like it, but if you limit it to the essential part of the song, meaning take away all the layers of effects and voices, it may end up decent - maybe a good B-side by a newcomer band...

Shacklers Revenge - this is dung in full power, computer-oriented effect wanking that's what it is!

Better - not really, starts off awfully overproduced, why do all songs have to have such silly intros? Get a shrink and throw away the mike, Axl! After the intro there is a song, scrape the intro and you may get a good song, again, remove lots of layers to get there... Lose the end too, as it is a reprise of the senseless intro.

The Blues - starts off promising, no effects, only a piano, but I bet it will get there. Axl's singing sounds weird, but not bad, that screetch is his thing, but I think he overdoes it at times, so far it fits - good song so far, I am surprised! 2/3 to go, don't fuck this up Axl! Even the guitar solo sounds good, who's that? The song with the least layers so far and it prooves me right, less makes more! Make that a single and it may get a good position and rightfully so! The pearl in a pile of shit so far!

If the World - Is this Hippetty Hop? Not rock, ah - we are in an intro again, so quickly forgotten what we have here, back to Use Your Delusions... It seems the intro will become the full song, layer after layer is added - Failure arises - although you cannot call a full song intro a shitty song, can you? I hate it, I just decided that...

There was a Time - Christmas Rock, who meddled with my player? Oh no, it is still Axl, guess what, it is an intro, non-rock rhythm and all. Kicking in? Somehow, but dragging along, drowned in layers, the more you have, the less you hear if they fit or not, can 1000 different notes form a harmonic impression, it seems so - Axl contradicts all music professors, was that the aim? I do not see this song going anywhere but the bin...

Catcher in the Rye - that piano again, with a lil guitar, good intro (although I hate that word by now ) - a flat pop rhythm drags it down - mediochre, but that means it ranges pretty high on this album! Is that Nanana in the middle or Lalala? I don't know which would be worse - fucking ridiculous, I bet that was the lyric that took 15 years to come up with

Scraped - ok song with some too many layers, but only some almost sounds good...

Rhiad and the Beduins - Nintendo anyone? Not Zelda though  A lil complicated rhythm and a strange riff in the coda, but this sounds interesting, really. Not bad, but good? I am not sure. But it could be seen as rock, misplaced song here?

Sorry - Weird intro, almost a lil Floydish, once again the not screetchy voice sounds weird, maybe effects to keep it at level? Decent ballad so far, the song grows well from the intro, 1:30 and no screetch - wow! OK, 1:39 and we are there  Clichee rock ballad, but I heard worse. The solo is fine, I decide on a good song here, again having just a few layers helps!

I.R.S. - That shitty rhythm again, is that a goat shitting on a drum? That I do not like, but the rest is not shabby, but cut off the intro. I like the mix of e- and acoustic guitar. The solo? No way - that would be a mayor fail in Guitar Hero! Does Axl have a lisp? I always wondered if that is so, or do they reduce the high frequencies when he screetch-sings? Mediochre. Repetitive.

Madagascar - Operatic intro, almost new, but an intro - fuck that synth rhythm, too much of that shit on this album. Deep screetch voice is not my favourite, it sounds strained - too many layers again - not good for me... Ridiculous middle part, it gets in tough competition with Shackler here! Godawful dung!

This is Love - The chorus sound so familiar, where have I heard this before, no clue, but this is almost too lil to be considered and another piano based ballad, a bit much for me, rain dripping from a roof is as exciting, I often got holes in my boot and am not a real fan of such  Hats off for the lil number of layers though and the solo is pretty ok!

Prostitute - Yes, you are! Fuck you  Seriously, I am so sick of that synth rhythm and is this a ballad collection album now? WTF? From minute 1 it starts to sound acceptable with too many layers again...

Hm naja ich finde Axl hat es geschafft klassische GnR Songs (Street of Dreams, There was a Time, Prostitute ...) und ein paar Experimente (Shackler's revenge, If the World....)
Ich mag "Better", "IRS", "Chinese Democracy" und ganz besonders "This I Love". "If the World" ist mir einen Tick zu funkig.
