Wuxia [ One Armed Swordsman remake / Yen / Kaneshiro ]

Director Peter Chan (The Warlords) will helm the remake of the 1967 classic and he plans to create a new story with a more bloody and cruel approach

Donnie Yen will play a cruel killer, who hides a dark past and lives in a small village as a fugitive. When an unthinkable homicide was committed, Takeshi Kaneshiro comes to investigate, only to discover a more sinister conspiracy, with Donnie Yen being the prime suspect. It's speculated that Tang Wei would play Donnie Yen or Takeshi Kaneshiro's wife. Chan also has offered one of the female leads to Gong Li.

Peter Chan indicates that Wuxia is an original script which marries action, physics, medical science with special effects to look at martial arts, such as how powerful a blow could be, and how different the impact would be when a fist lands on a martial arts exponent versus on a regular person.

The film is the first time Yen and Kaneshiro have cooperated on a movie project, and they are excited about the challenges it offers. Yen is also the film's choreographer. Kaneshiro may have to undergo fighting training before the shooting begins in August. Director Peter Chan says they are beginning production soon so as not to eat into the schedule of Donnie Yen's next film Monkey King.

Die Weinstein Company hat sich die Rechte an Peter Chan's Martial Arts Epos Wu Xia gesichert und den Titel gleich mal in Dragon umbenannt. Neben Takeshi Kaneshiro und Donnie wird es ein Wiedersehen geben mit Kara Hui!

Zumindest nicht zu diesem Termin, es scheint noch nicht mal einen deutschen Trailer zu geben (hab jedenfalls noch keinen gefunden).

Wu xia (internationaler Titel: Dragon) wurde jetzt scheinbar von ca 115 Minuten auf nur 97 Minuten gekürzt und kommt so am 26.10 in den USA erst als VOD-Version heraus und später im November auch in ein paar Kinos. http://www.schnittberichte.com/news.php?ID=4346

Ist ja Alles gut und recht, ich moechte den Film aber soweit eigentlich nur mal sichten, und da kotzt mich deren Rumgeschnippel schon maechtig an.
Und fuer ne (wahrscheinlich) einmalige Sichtung importier ich mir keine BluRay, sorry.

War auch nicht negativ aufgefasst worden, bin ja dankbar fuer den Tip.  ;)
Wenn mir diese Rumpffassung gefaellt, werd ich dann wohl auf die ungekuerzte BluRay zurueckgreifen.
