Fangoria hat ein paar Informationen zu Dog Soldiers 2 parat:

-Die Produktion beginnt Ende August.
-Der zweite Teil wird die gleichen Elemente, wie Teil eins haben, jedoch werden dieses Mal mehr amerikanische Schauspieler dabei sein, weil das Original vielen "zu britisch" war.
-Kevin McKidd (Cooper) und die Produzenten David Allen und Christopher Figg haben bereits zugesagt. Ein Regissur wurde noch nicht bekannt gegeben.


Da mich Dog Soldiers letztes Jahr auf dem FFF positiv überascht hatte, bin ich schon auf einen zweiten Teil gespannt. Ich hoffe nur, dass sie nicht zu viele britische Elemente weglassen, weil das gerade den Stil ausgemacht hat.

und was kommt dann dabei raus? Ein ganz normaler genre-typischer Werwolf-Film mit irgendwelchen Amis und ohne den Flair des ersten Teils, ich sag nur "Fussball".....

Ist schon etwas über das Budget bekannt? Viel kann man bei einer Fortsetzung ja eigentlich nicht verkehrt machen, da der Stoff zu simpel ist.

Sorry, über das Budget ist mir nichts bekannt. Seitdem ich den Thread eröffnet habe, gab es auch sonst leider keine weiteren Infos...

Also, producer David Allen revealed some interesting stuff about the sequel, saying...

" All I can tell you is that it picks up right at the end of the first film and we will have some Americans in it. And it is still being made as a theatrical film, we did sell the first film around the world theatrically, but of course, America did not think that America wanted to see another British film. We will have a bigger budget and be shooting in Luxembourg again. We hope to get the studios here interested in showing it theatrically. We hope once we do the sequel to go back and do a prequel as well. "

Mal wieder Neuigkeiten:

Two issues ago, Hotdog Magazine over here in the UK snatched some exclusive information on the Dog Soldiers sequel straight from the mouth of director/writer, Neil Marshal.


The movie, to be called Dog Soldiers 2: Fresh Meat is going into production early 2004 for an early 2005 release. Kevin McKidd is back in the lead role but Neil Marshal himself will only be taking a "story by" and a "produced by" credit. It was revealed that [despite Marshal's hope to make a trilogy with McKidd's character facing each separate classic monster entity in each subsequent movie (Part 2 was to have the lead fighting a haven of vampires, Part 3 Frankenstein style zombies), which is now shelved due to the similar-in-nature Van Hesling that is coming soon (with the trilogies worth in one movie!) the movie will take place soon after the first, and straight from Marshal's mouth, the secret of the movie is all in the "magic of DNA and the sheepdog from the first movie." Give it away why don't you?

DOG SOLDIERS: FRESH MEAT, the follow-up to easily one of the most refreshing werewolf movies in years, will go before the cameras in April. Budgeted at $5.5 million and scheduled for a 35-day shoot, the sequel will be shot in either Luxembourg or Canada under the direction of Andy Armstrong (an action/2nd unit director with credits including HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II, NIGHTBREED and HIGHWAYMEN) from an Eric Miller script. The story is by the original's returning producers, David E. Allen and Brian Patrick O'Toole.

"The new movie begins right at the end of the first film," Allen reveals. "Cooper is picked up by an American team who, we find out, were the real opponents for the war games for Sgt. Wells' squad. We discover more werewolves that we didn't know about from the first movie, who may or may not be part of the family. There's more action, more gore and there are definitely more werewolves. It's all out in the woods again, with plenty of guns and blood." As of now, no cast has been announced, including whether actor Kevin McKidd will return to reprise the Cooper role.

"With daybreak comes the next horrifying chapter in the DOG SOLDIERS saga.
"In the misty morning, following his night of werewolf horror in the original DOG SOLDIERS, Pvt. Lawrence Cooper surveys the rubble of the Scottish farmhouse, battered and bruised from the battle. He has lost everything he knew to the werewolf family; his fellow soldiers, his father figure sergeant, his faith in women and his disbelief in the supernatural. Cooper and the only other survivor, Sam the dog, begin their long trek toward civilization, satisfied that the werewolf family was killed in the farmhouse explosion.

"Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest, the U.S. Special Forces team that was originally sent to participate in a series of war games with Cooper's team waits impatiently. Col. Benjamin Parker sends two of his men off to see if there is any sign of the British team. They return with Cooper, who tells them an unbelievable tale about the night he and his platoon were besieged by a family of werewolves.

"Just as Parker is about to write off Cooper as a mass murderer, a second wounded British soldier is brought into the U.S. camp. He introduces himself as British Special OPS Pvt. Kevin Erickson, lone survivor of the werewolf attack on Sgt. Ryan's platoon in the original film. Erickson reports the werewolf attack on his platoon to the soldiers. He escaped with a few other soldiers to a cave near a stream. During the night, Erickson watched as one by one his platoon died, only to be resurrected, transformed into werewolves: Dog Soldiers!

"Parker has had enough of the werewolf tales, puts both men under arrest and banishes them to a secured tent until they can all be picked up by a rendezvous ship in the morning. When Cooper reveals his photographic evidence from the farmhouse, Parker sends out three of his men to the shattered farmhouse to corroborate Cooper's story. The U.S. soldiers arrive at the farmhouse...just at moonrise. They are greeted by a bone-chilling howl that shatters the still of the night.

"What follows is a night of ultimate horror as the U.S. forces, armed to the teeth with modern warfare technology, are about to take on their greatest foe, savage supernatural beasts who think and act like soldiers. The battle for humanity will be fought on this night...Man vs. Beast...Soldier vs. Dog Soldier!"

Naja....ich fand Dog Soldiers wirklich gut und hab ihn auch einige male aufs Neue angeschaut aber einen zweiten Teil braucht es wirklich nicht. Die Mannschaft ist, von Coop mal abgesehen, tot. Was solls also? Die Luft ist raus, wie man sagt. Eine Fortsetzung braucht kein Mensch. Sicher, wenn Spoon im ersten Teil überlebt hätte, hätte ich mich auch auf eine Fortsetzung des Faustkampfes gegen Werwölfe gefreut...aber so :-)

Huch, hatte diesen Thread schon fast vergessen!
Na da bin ich ja mal gespannt wie sie die Geschichte weiterspinnen wollen!

Da ich den ersten Teil ziemlich genial fand freue ich mich somit auch auf den zweiten Teil. (Der wohl erst 2009 bei uns veröffentlicht werden wird. Tippe ich jetzt mal)

Dog Soldiers Lives on in Legacy Series!

Kismet Entertainment Group announces the first official teaser trailer for the upcoming Dog Soldiers: Legacy web series.

The project was filmed in Northwest Arkansas in the last weekend of August 2011.

"The trailer brings back a sense of the unique werewolf style that we have all come to love from the original Dog Soldiers film," stated Kismet vice president D. Eric Allen. Allen produced the teaser.

Based on a modern-day version of "Little Red Riding Hood," multiple members of Allen's family took part in the Ryan Lightbourn-directed trailer including his grandmother Pat "Nan" Allen who plays the awaiting grandma and his sister Emmy Allen who portrays "Red."

Kismet Entertainment is also in the early stages of pre-production for the first sequel to the 2002 cult hit Dog Soldiers, which put director Neil Marshall on the genre map.

Ich schuppe mal an, da ich gestern mal wieder die DVD zu DOG SOLDIERS in der Hand hatte und mich fragte "Sollte da nicht mal noch n zweiter Teil oder sogar ne Serie folgen??"
Jetzt in den TWD-Zeiten könnten sie es doch auchmal mit Werwölfen richtig krachen lassen. 

Weiss da jemand etwas neues drüber?
