the Boogeyman (Stephen King Adaption von Rob Savage)

From Host and Dashcam director Rob Savage, The Boogeyman will be getting a theatrical release on June 2, 2023, from 20th Century Studios, which is notable considering the film was originally set to go direct-to-Hulu. From what we've heard, a strong test screening – plus approval from King himself – gave the studio confidence to super-size the film's release strategy.

In the film, "Still reeling from the tragic death of their mother, a teenage girl and her little brother find themselves plagued by a sadistic presence in their house and struggle to get their grieving father to pay attention before it's too late."

Sophie Thatcher ("Yellowjackets") and Chris Messina (Birds of Prey) star alongside David Dastmalchian (Dune, The Suicide Squad), Marin Ireland (Y: The Last Man, The Umbrella Academy), Vivien Lyra Blair (Bird Box, Mr. Corman) and Madison Hu (Voyagers).

Scott Beck & Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place) and Akela Cooper (Malignant) wrote the original drafts of the script, with Mark Heyman (Black Swan) being brought on board as well.

Ja, das wird die "Adaption" sein, aber die taugt eigentlich nur für eine 30-Minuten-Episode (und als solche wurde sie ja auch verfilmt).

Für mich sieht das okay aus, aber nach Ideen-Recycling, ein wenig Lights Out, ein wenig Zahnfee usw. Bestimmt sauber gemacht, aber keine Offenbarung.
