Criterion Essential Art House

Weiß jemand was genaueres über diese Reihe? Darin kosten die Filme nur ungefähr die Hälfte der üblichen Ausgaben, aber weder auf der Website (http://www.criterion.com/library/dvd/essential/all/) noch im Netz wird klar, ob da nun die Extras (Kommentare, Features etc.) weggelassen sind oder nicht. Logisch wäre es ja, daß entsprechend abgespeckt wird.

Hat evtl. schon einer was aus der Reihe und kann mich aufklären?

Ganz kurz: Ja, es wurden Extras weggelassen. Da die Extras bei Criterion oft sehr gut und interessant sind würde ich persönlich nicht zur abgespeckten Version greifen.
Ausnahmen bestätigen wie immer die Regel.
Anscheinend gibt es aber auch ein paar Filme, die nicht normal released sind, wusste ich bisher gar nicht.

This week, we're excited to announce the launch of a new line: Essential Art House. Two years ago, when Janus Films celebrated its fiftieth anniversary, we marked the occasion with the beautiful fifty-disc box set and book Essential Art House: 50 Years of Janus Films, full of classics that provided so many moviegoers with their introduction to world cinema.

Ah, alles klar. Aber schließlich kauft man ja Criterion gerade wegen der (exklusiven) Extras, auch wenn es dann eben oft teuer ist.
