A contemporary identity thriller, set in Santiago, Chile, winter 2011. The city is convulsed by student marches with thousands of protesters on the streets. Disconnected from this social context, 27 year old actress Olivia is suddenly hounted by collection agencies, which confuse her with someone else, named Lorena Ruiz. As the harassment multiplies and turns nasty, she sets out to discover the real Lorena. Obsessed by finding her, Olivia descends into the dark labyrinth of Chile's payment collection system. Identity Thriller und Chile ist schonmal gut, das und Hauptdarstellerin sowohl allgemeiner Film-Look auf dem Bild haben gereicht um mich tierisch anzufixen. Also eigentlich hat mir das Bild alleine schon fast gereicht. :icon_cool:

Hatte die letzten Jahre einige sehr gute Genrefilme aus Südamerika gesehen, (von denen einige diesen "orangenen" Look hatten, und tolle Hauptdarstellerinen), zB. Blind Alley und Penumbra. Kleine aber feine Filme, genau mein Geschmack, und I'm Not Lorena scheint wieder so einer zu sein.

After international hit 'La Nana' (The Maid), U.S. sales company Shoreline Entertainment and Chile's Forastero are reteaming on "I Am Not Lorena," which world preems in the Toronto Fest's Discovery section. Its the feature debut of Chile's Isidora Marras.

Co-produced by another Chilean outfit, Yassin Velasquez and Giancarlo Nasi's Don Quijote Films ("In the Shade of the Trees") and Buenos Aires' Carrousel Films ("Puzzle"), "Lorena" marks not only a talent to track and yet another emerging Chilean distaff director, but yet another move by a Latin American production house into genre filmmaking, meshed with social-issues.

"Isidora Marras' debut is an original crowd pleaser that will connect with audiences across the world.  We began an outstanding relationship with Gregorio Gonzalez and Forastero with the international hit 'La Nana' (The Maid), and we're very much looking forward to continued commercial success with this film," said Sam Eigen, executive vice president, Shoreline Entertainment.
