Nightbreed (Cabal - nach Clive Barker - Syfy Channel)

Deadline reports that Syfy will be developing a TV series reboot of Nightbreed, based on Clive Barker's horror novella Cabal which was previously adapted it into a movie in 1990, giving it the title Nightbreed.

Barker wrote and directed the film adaptation of his work but, at the time of its release, it was considered a box office failure. In recent decades, the film has since attained a cult status among dark fantasy and horror fans alike.

"This story has been near to my heart for many years," Barker said. "I'm at beyond thrilled that SyFy and UCP are taking this journey with us, and I cannot wait to see it brought to life on the screen."

The project has been written by Josh Stolberg (Jigsaw). He has worked to make the property relevant to today's audience, focusing on the race relations that are interwoven within Nightbreed. The difference is that the tension is between Humans and Monsters.

Morgan Creek's James G. Robinson, David Robinson and Barbara Wall will be executive producing the planned series. Barker and Mark Miller of Seraphim Films will also be executive producing.

Nunja, das Buch ist gut, die Kinofassung okay, der DC interessant - und den "Cabal Cut" hab ich noch nicht gesehen.
Leider ist Syfy nicht Netflix oder HBO... also sind die Erwartungen an die Serie jetzt nicht gerade hoch.

Hast du den denn und wie ich nur noch keine Zeit gehabt? Wenn nicht, blöd, da gab es noch einige Kopien in England, aber die sind nun auch weg...

Zum Projekt: Ich freue mich prinzipiell, würde mich mehr freuen wenn es ein anderer Sender wär, oder sie ein gutes Team zusammenstellen (beim Autor habe ich schon starke Zweifel!) und/oder wenn Barker da direkt beteiligt wär, obwohl ich gar nicht weiss, ob der das noch kann, lange nichts gehört, aber so fit sah er unlängst wirklich nicht aus. Aber auch wenn er wieder fit ist, so ist er bestimmt weiterhin zeitlich über beide Ohren dicht...
