Geht's abwärts mit Wesley Snipes?

Wesley Snipes scheint endlich wieder ein vernünftiges Projekt gefunden zu haben. Zumindest spricht
die Besetzung und der Regisseur für eine Kinoveröffentlichung:

 
Ken Watanabe ("Batman Begins", "The Last Samurai") and Shu Qi will team with Wesley Snipes in the upcoming action-adventure "Chasing the Dragon" reports Production Weekly.

Snipes plays FBI Agent Bo Monroe, who teams up with Song, a poverty-stricken Asian girl played by Qi. Together they travel from China Town to Taiwan on a relentless pursuit of a ruthless Asian drug lord, Jimmy Jiro (Watanabe).

Chris Nahon will direct from a script written by W. Peter Iliff ("Patriot Games", "Point Break"). Production begins next month on location in Taiwan and Toronto.

Na ja - mal abwarten. Auf den ersten Blick hätte ich das nämlich auch von "Chaos" behauptet...

Hatte ich auch mal irgendwo gelesen, doch ich glaube ehrlich gesagt nicht daran (die wollten doch anfangs auch "Into the Sun" in die Kinos bringen). Na ja, abwarten...

Hab gerade noch ne Meldung gelesen, daß "Rougue" den ursprünglich ins Kino bringen wollte, bevor "Sony" den für eine DTV-Auswertung übernommen hat. Keine Ahnung, wie aktuell oder korrekt die Info ist...

Weil der 1994 (?) verstorben ist. Imo passte die Stimme in Alarmstufe Rot 2 und Einsame Entscheidung gut, das sie nah am alten Sprecher war.

Schade nur, dass dann dieser Sprecher nicht seine letzten Filme synchronisiert hat!

Und noch ein Film für Wesley:

Wesley Snipes and Mario Van Peebles, who teamed memorably for 1991's "New Jack City," are reuniting for "Hard Luck."

Cybill Shepherd is joining Snipes, who is in final negotiations to headline the pulpy thriller, which Van Peebles is also directing and producing.

"Hard Luck" is described as a quirky thriller following three converging story lines involving bootleggers, a serial killer and drug dealers. Snipes will play a former drug dealer who is trying to go straight but comes across a stash of stolen drugs. Shepherd will play Cass, a middle-aged suburban housewife who hides a sadistic and vicious streak.

The movie is set to begin production next week in Rhode Island. The budget is in the $10 million range.

The movie is Van Peebles' first directorial outing since "Baadasssss!," his acclaimed 2003 homage to his father, Melvin. Van Peebles directed and acted alongside Snipes in "New Jack City," which has gone on to become an urban classic.

Snipes last starred in "Blade: Trinity."
