Johnny Depp stars as the decadent John Wilmot, the second Earl of Rochester. The film follows the Earl's adventures in London, from his passionate romance with a young actress, to the writing of a scurrilous play which blisteringly and bawdily lampoons the very monarch who commissioned it, Charles II, leading to the Earl's banishment and eventual downfall.

Weiß jemand etwas näheres? In der imdb ist als Jahr 2004 angegeben o_0. Soll der Film hierzulande in die Kinos kommen?
Bin gespannt - hört sich eigentlich recht interessant an...

Der Film ist bei den Weinsteins und da bei der Firmenneugründung mitgenommen und erst mal auf Halde geschoben worden.
Jetzt soll er awardtechnisch noch ausgebeutet werden, aber der US-Start steht jetzt erst an.
Ergo wirds bei uns auch noch dauern.

Ob dieses Thema (Poet gelangt zu anrüchigem Ruhm und säuft und hurt sich bis zur lethalen Geschlechtskrankheit) jedoch bei uns kinowürdig ist, würde ich noch abwarten. Bestimmt Arthouse-Ware.
