Fiver's Honeycomb - A Watership Down Forum

Darkling Nocturnal

Also schaut einfach mal rein ;)

Ich möchte an dieser Stelle einfach mal die Änderungen eingehen, welche auch in folgendem Mailing erwähnt werden:

ZitatHello dear members of Fiver's Honeycomb,

we know, that our last mailing wasn't long ago, but we have September again and Fiver's Honeycomb passed through some improvements we would like to share with you.

#############################

List of Contents:

- Kehaar's Zero Access Panel
- Hannah's Topic Recommendations
- Mailing Archive
- Password Recovery System
- New Theme in Development
- Create or desire your own Watership Down Emoticons

#############################

* Kehaar's Zero Access Panel
We've replaced the second top-menu with Kehaar's Zero Access Panel. But what's new about this? Besides contact information, the portal and the social media, you have now access to the following things:
- Mailing Archive: Here, you find all our mailings, we've send since March
- Changelog: The Changelog gives you an overview of the changes, the Honeycomb experienced over time
- Pipkin's Introduction: This is for new members. They get some guidance about their first steps here in Fiver's Honeycomb
- Board Rules: Yes, even rabbits need rules. They are now easy to access through this menu point

* Hannah's Topic Recommendations
We've optimized the banners below the menu and put them into an own category, hosted by Hannah. They give you quick access to interesting discussions here in Fiver's Honeycomb.

* Mailing Archive
You've read it already, but let's take a closer look to this new section. You know, that we send monthly updates about the proceedings here in Fiver's Honeycomb, so you always stay up to date. But what, if you don't get a mailing? No problem. All mailings are now accessible through the new top menu, so you're always in the picture about the improvements and changes here in Fiver's Honeycomb. Of course, the Changelog supports you.

* Password Recovery System
Yes, this is something, every board should have. And Fiver's Honeycomb has such a feature also of course. But you may have overseen it. We admit, that this point was hidden very good. But now, it is accessible straight through the welcome message. Right over the login-form, you'll find a link: "I forgot my password". Use it and you will be able to return to the Honeycomb with your account. The fear to become a Hlessi is gone.

* New theme in development
We're working on a new theme in Fiver's Honeycomb, which will give you a brighter look at the Honeycomb. It has the fitting title "Bright Eyes". The theme is still in the works, but of course, you could give us your feedback. Tell us, what you want to see, what we can optimize and if you have seen errors. Remember, that the theme isn't finished yet, but you have now the possibility to contribute into the development.

* Create or desire your own Watership Down Emoticons
This is not really new, but we want to remind you, that you have the possibility to create your own Watership Down Emoticons here in Fiver's Honeycomb. Of course, you will be credited for your work! If you have a favorite character, you want to see together with the other Emoticons but you haven't the ability or possibility to create it, you can still consult us. You find the respective link within Hannah's Topic Recommendations.

Neues Design, neue Struktur, neue Inhalte:

ZitatDear members, visitors and Watership Down fans,

it's November and while outside everything is getting cold and grey, Fiver's Honeycomb is experiencing a new spring. We were very busy the last days and have interesting news for you!

#############################

List of Contents:

- General Board Renamings
- Hickory's Comic & Manga Burrow
- Pipkin's Introduction Revised
- Hannah's Topic Recommendations Revised
- Watership Down in Donnie Darko
- Fiver's Honeycomb Blog-System
- New Support-Forum for Guests & Members
- New Contact Site and Staff Signatures
- Roles for the Council of Chiefs
- New Design for Fiver's Honeycomb
- New Structure in Fiver's Honeycomb

#############################

* General Board Renamings
Let's begin this mailing with two minor changes, that shouldn't be unspoken:
Animated Movies & Series has been renamed to Calohki's Cartoon Corner.
Gilia's Video Game Corner has been renamed to Gilia's Video Game Lair.

* Hickory's Comic & Manga Burrow
You, the members of Fiver's Honeycomb, have voted and so, we've created Hickory's Comic & Manga Burrow for discussions about all kind of, well... comics and manga!

*Pipkin's Introduction Revised
Pipkin's Introduction (in Kehaar's ZAP) has been revised. It looks now more compact and the incongruous filter, that adorned the old version, is gone.

*Hannah's Topic Recommendations Revised
Hannah's Topic Recommendations also experienced a revision. The link to our partner-site has been removed (it can be found now below HTRs). Therefor, you find now a quick-link to the new blog-system. The images have been reworked likewise. Because this section is called "Hannah's Topic Recommendations", Hannah is now also visually in charge for this section.

* Watership Down in Donnie Darko
Maybe, some of you might know the movie Donnie Darko, and if not, we recommend you to give it a try, because without Watership Down, this movie wouldn't be possible. Our partner-site HighLonelyHills.com has collected some interesting stuff about Watership Down's influence in Donnie Darko. Fiver's Honeycomb is now providing the respective discussion platform.

*Fiver's Honeycomb Blogsystem
Compared to all the awesome stuff that's been happening here on The Honeycomb throughout the month, this is just a side-note, but we are pleased to announce that you can now have your very own, personal blog within the forum!
The feature would allow you to develop your ideas in an easy-to-manage space as well as to share them with the rest of the community thru the proper, official topic made to fulfill that purpose. You will also be able to tweak the privacy settings at will, to whichever option suits your needs better.
Information about how to create and advertise your blog can be found on the board.

* New Support-Forum for Guests & Members
We want you to feel comfortable in Fiver's Honeycomb. And if you haven't registered yet, you maybe have questions before you join us. We've created Snowdrop's Support Section, where you can ask us, if you have questions. There are two areas: One for guests (and pre-registration questions), one for our members. And if you want to make your request private, you still can contact the staff directly. We're glad to help you!

* New Contact Site and Staff Signatures
The contact site has been reworked. In addition, every staff member has now a special signature, which gives the team a consistend look and makes it easier to contact it.

* Roles for the Council of Chiefs
As a consequence thereof, the staff has now assigned roles so you, the users and visitors can easily find the right contact rabbit (or bat) for your concern, as there are:

- Myrkin: General Questions and Contact
- Silverweed's Claws: Members Support
- Darkling Nocturnal: Design & Programming
- Hawkbit: Founder of Fiver's Honeycomb

* New Design for Fiver's Honeycomb
We've reworked the design for Fiver's Honeycomb. The old design was unfortunately very dull and monotonous. The new design is still dark, however more colorful. The first positive feedback arrived us and we're glad, that the design is accepted by our members. If you haven't seen it yet, come and have a look.

* New Structure in Fiver's Honeycomb
Yes, in course of the design revision, we've decided to restructure Fiver's Honeycomb. First, we wanted to put the focus more on Watership Down. And then, we wanted to make the whole board clearer:

The Watership Down section is now segmented into forums for all Watership Down media:
- The Honeycomb (General Discussions)
- 1972 - The Novel
- 1978 - The Movie
- 1996 - Tales from Watership Down
- 1999 - The Series
- 2016 - The BBC Mini-Series
- The High Lonely Hills (support-forum for our partner-site)

Games and role-plays are merged now within Redstone.
Silverweed's Celebration Chamber is now part of Bluebell's Banter.

Nuthanger Farm got a new section: Tassel's Media Tree. There, you find now:
- Calohki's Cartoon Corner
- Gilia's Video Game Lair
- Hickory's Comic & Manga Burrow

RPG's are combined now into Rabscuttle's Role Playing Tales. This section is also part of Redstone.
