"In the Land of Blood & Honey" is set against the backdrop of the Bosnian War in the '90s. This bold new film illustrates the consequences of the lack of political will to intervene in a society stricken with conflict.

"In the Land of Blood & Honey" features a completely local cast, most of whom were children of the war. The film was simultaneously shot in English and their native language. During the time of the war the language spoken was Serbo-Croatian and is now referred to as BHS.

Der Trailer sieht leider mehr nach 08/15-Kriegsschmonzette aus als nach einer anständigen filmischen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Jugoslawienkrieg bzw. dem Völkermord an den bosniakischen Muslimen.

Mal sehen Jolie ist doch sehr im Thema Krieg, Armut usw drin wegen ihrer UNICEF Arbeit. Ich vertraue ihr da mal und denke das wird schon gut werden.

Sehe ich ebenfalls wie Pinhead_X. Guter Trailer, ambitioniertes Projekt, scheinbar eine behutsame Umsetzung - könnte gut werden.

Würde ich genau umgekehrt sehen; wenn sich Hollywood-Ladies selbst in Kriegs- und Krisengebiete abkommandieren, um ein bisschen in Friedensmission zu machen, wird es meistens ziemlich grauenhaft. Wie hieß noch dieses Teil mit der Lopez über diese Mexiko-Morde ? - der rangiert (nicht nur) bei mir unter den worst of all times.

Aber was soll's. Wichtig ist dabei doch nur eins: 12.00 Uhr Bosnien, Sniperbeschuss, aber die Frisur hält.
